About the race
About 40 miles northwest of Los Angeles, and just a little ways from Santa Clarita, sits Castaic Lake State Recreation Area. The site boasts beautiful views of the lake and miles of steep trails that will test every racer on the course. The weather is usually perfect, but should it happen to rain, this will become one of the muddiest races on the Spartan calendar — fast.
